Crescent dogs have been a beloved snack for decades with Pillsbury™ popularizing the flaky, hot dog-filled rolls that became a staple at family dinners. While similar recipes have existed for years, Pillsbury’s version made crescent dogs a well-loved favorite in many households. Building on that, we put our own spin on the classic with everything bagel crescent dogs—a flavor-packed twist that’s anything but ordinary.

Then, they’re topped with a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning, a savory mix of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, garlic, and onion. The result is a balance of crunch, creaminess, and flavor in every bite. They’re quick to make and delicious for weeknight dinners or snacks.
Here’s a closer look at the ingredients you’ll need for this everything bagel crescent dogs recipe.
Crescent Rolls: These handy refrigerated Pillsbury™ Crescent Rolls are the key to that flaky, golden crust wrapped around the hot dogs. You can also use Pillsbury™ Crescent Dough Sheet—see the Tips from the Pillsbury Kitchens for instructions.
Hot Dogs: The star of the dish, hot dogs add a juicy, savory bite that pairs well with flaky crescent dough and everything bagel-inspired seasonings.
Chive & Onion Cream Cheese Spread: This creamy spread adds a tangy base. If you don’t have cream cheese spread, softened regular cream cheese works as a substitute.
Sesame Seeds, Poppy Seeds, and Dried Minced Onions: The classic everything bagel seasonings add both crunch and savory flavor. For a quick shortcut, you can also use 1/4 cup of store-bought everything bagel seasoning.
Garlic Powder: Garlic adds depth to the cream cheese, rounding out the seasoning blend.
Here’s what you’ll need to prepare and bake these easy everything bagel crescent dogs.
Sharp Knife: Use a sharp knife to cut the crescent dough into rectangles. A pizza cutter works well, too.
Small Icing Spatula: Ideal for spreading the cream cheese mixture evenly without tearing the dough. A butter knife or small silicone spatula are great alternatives.
Cookie Sheet: Shiny metal cookie sheets work best. They reflect heat efficiently, helping the crescent dogs bake and brown evenly.
Other Cookware You’ll Need: Measuring cup, measuring spoons, small mixing bowls, mixing spoon or spatula, plate, and cutting board.
Here’s how to make this easy everything bagel crescent dogs recipe.
This step is quick thanks to cream cheese spread—no need to soften it. Pour the seasoning mix onto a plate to make it easy to coat the tops of the crescent dogs.
Keep dough chilled for easier handling. Separate into rectangles, pressing perforations to seal. Cut into 8 pieces large enough to wrap around the hot dogs.
Spread a thin layer of filling on each piece, avoiding the edges. Wrap around hot dogs and pinch to seal. Roll the top half in the seasoning mix for even coverage without overcoating.
Place seam-side down on an ungreased baking sheet. This helps seal the dough. Bake until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Our everything bagel crescent dogs are best enjoyed right out of the oven. Over time, the cream cheese can lose moisture, and the dough absorbs moisture from the hot dogs and cheese, making the crescents less flaky and tender. However, here is the best way to make the most of any leftovers.
If you have leftover crescent dogs, cool completely. Then, store in a covered container or resealable food storage bag for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
To reheat, place one crescent dog on a microwave-safe plate and cover loosely. Microwave on medium (50%) for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds, or until heated through. Reheated crescent dogs may become a little drier, so adding your favorite condiment can help keep them tasty.
We do not recommend freezing either baked or unbaked crescent dogs for the same reasons we don’t recommend storing them in the refrigerator.

Heat oven to 375°F.
In small bowl, mix cream cheese spread and garlic powder until blended.

In another small bowl, mix sesame seed, poppy seed, and dried onions; pour onto medium-size plate.

Separate dough into 4 rectangles; reshape each rectangle to form 6x4-inch rectangle, firmly pressing perforations to seal. With sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each 6x4-inch rectangle in half crosswise to get 8 (3x4-inch) rectangles.

On each dough rectangle, spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese mixture, leaving a 1/4-inch border around the edges.

Place hot dog on each rectangle of dough; roll up. Pinch edges firmly to seal.

Gently roll top half of hot dog in sesame seed mixture to coat evenly.

Place seam side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Discard any remaining sesame seed mixture after you’re done rolling.

Bake 16 to 18 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with ketchup, mustard, or ranch dressing.

You can purchase prepared bagel spice mixture at many stores to substitute for the sesame seed, poppy seed, and minced onions in the recipe. Use 1/4 cup spice mixture.
Everything bagel seasoning is a savory blend of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and salt. Originally a classic bagel topping, it gained widespread popularity in the 2010s as food bloggers and chefs began experimenting with it on everything from avocado toast to roasted vegetables. For a homemade version, check out our DIY Everything Bagel Seasoning recipe.
Instead of everything bagel seasoning, try brushing the tops of the crescent dogs with an egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt or sesame seeds. You can brush with garlic butter for extra flavor, too.
This recipe works just as well with a Pillsbury™ Crescent Dough Sheet. Unroll the dough sheet, cut into 4 (6x4-inch) rectangles, and follow the directions as written.
