This easy take on chicken and waffles comes together in just a few simple steps. Check out this brief overview, then keep scrolling for the full recipe.
Cook the tenders according to package instructions until crispy and heated through.
While the chicken bakes, heat your waffle maker and spray with cooking spray. Heads up—we found that we didn’t need to have the heat as high on the waffle maker as for normal waffles. If your first waffle turns out too dark, turn the heat down.
Separate the biscuit dough into individual rounds, then place one biscuit at a time in the center of the waffle maker. Close the lid and cook for about 3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat, remembering to spray between batches, until all the waffles are done.
To serve, stack two warm biscuit waffles and top with one or two crispy chicken tenders. Serve with butter on the waffle and a drizzle of syrup on top. If you’re in the mood for savory, try our delicious homemade one-pan gravy, or just add hot sauce and eggs for a flavor-packed, satisfying meal.
Leftover chicken and waffles reheat surprisingly well and make an easy, satisfying meal the next day. Here’s how to store them.
Allow the cooked chicken and waffles to cool, then store them in two separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
You can save extra waffles in a resealable bag in the freezer for up to 3 months, but we wouldn’t recommend refreezing the chicken for food safety reasons.

Meanwhile, spray waffle maker with cooking spray; heat as directed by manufacturer.

Separate dough into 8 biscuits.

Add each biscuit one at a time to heated waffle maker; close lid, cook up to 3 minutes or until golden brown, and remove. Repeat, starting with spraying the waffle maker until all waffles are complete.

To assemble, stack two waffles on top of each other, then carefully place 1 or 2 prepared chicken tenders on top of the stack.

Drizzle with butter and syrup.

Stack a waffle on top to make a chicken sandwich!
