Create some new memories in the kitchen tonight with everyone’s favorite–pepperoni pizza. Get that homemade crust vibe without all the work! Open the oven to a pie with hot, fresh dough and crispy pepperoni—it’ll be our secret that you used Pillsbury™ pizza crust. Simple to prep and fresh from the oven in minutes, this easy pepperoni pizza recipe is something the whole family can agree on.
Here’s everything you’ll need to make Pepperoni Pizza.
Pillsbury™ Classic Pizza Crust: Use our classic dough for that traditional fluffy, pillowy crust.
Pizza Sauce: You’ll need a whole 8-oz can of pizza sauce. If you’re using a larger can or jar, that’s about 1 cup of sauce.
Pepperoni: Any variety of pepperoni will work fine–shelf-stable or refrigerated, spicy or mild, dry or fresh sliced. We recommend 1/2 cup, but use more or less based on your preference.
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: We love pre-shredded, low-moisture mozzarella! Feel free to grate your own if you prefer, but don’t use fresh mozzarella; it has too much moisture and could keep your pizza from browning in the allotted cook time.
Here’s a look at how to make this Pepperoni Pizza. Follow the recipe for more details.
Add a little cornmeal to your baking stone. Unroll dough onto the surface and use your hands to press the dough out and form a raised edge. Bake the crust for 5 minutes.
Spread the par-baked crust with sauce, add mozzarella and pepperoni, and sprinkle with Parmesan.
Return pizza to the oven and bake until cheese is melted and pizza is golden brown and cooked through.
If you have leftovers, here’s how to store and reheat them.
Transfer leftover pizza to an airtight food storage container or resealable food-storage plastic bag. Store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Refrigerate any leftovers within 2 hours of serving.
Wrap leftovers tightly in plastic wrap and foil before freezing. Freeze for up to 1 month.
We love the classic crust, but sometimes a thin crust hits the spot! With a few easy updates, this recipe can also be made with Pillsbury™ Thin Crust Pizza Crust dough.
Thin Crust Pizza: Using a can of refrigerated Pillsbury™ Thin Crust Pizza Crust dough (8 oz) instead of the classic crust, follow the directions as written below.
1. Heat oven to 400°F. Spray a 15x10-inch (or larger) dark or nonstick baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle a little cornmeal on baking sheet to cover in a very thin layer. Unroll dough on baking sheet. Starting at center, press dough into 15x10-inch rectangle. Bake for 5 minutes.
2. Remove baking sheet from the oven. Spread pizza sauce over the dough base and up to the rim, leaving 1/2” border for thin crust. Top with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese. Bake 6 to 8 minutes more, until cheese is melted and dough is cooked through. Slice and serve hot!

Heat oven to 425°F. Sprinkle a little cornmeal on a 12-inch pizza stone to cover in a very thin layer. Unroll dough on pizza stone. Starting at center, press dough into 12-inch square, forming 1/2-inch rim for the crust. If dough begins to stick, sprinkle a little more cornmeal until the crust moves freely on the stone. Transfer pizza stone to oven and bake for 5 minutes.

Carefully remove pizza stone from the oven. Spread pizza sauce over the dough base and up to the rim. Top with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese.

Bake 5 to 7 minutes more, until cheese is melted and dough is cooked through.

Remove from the oven, and let pizza cool for 3 to 5 minutes. Slice and serve hot.

Pile on your favorite toppings, such as cooked Italian sausage, chopped onions, and bell pepper, to make a great pizza even better.
