“Every Thanksgiving, there was always a different meat medley and sides. The one constant that my mom always has to make us are the Mama Kelce dinner rolls.” – Jason Kelce, American football center for the Philadelphia Eagles, on The Mythical Kitchen
These magical cinnamon-sugar crescent puffs come together with just a few simple pantry staples. Here’s what you’ll need.
Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: The soft, flaky pastry shell that wraps around the marshmallow. No fussy mixing or kneading required!
Marshmallows: This is where the magic happens. As the rolls heat up, the marshmallows melt away and caramelize to form a sweet, hollow center in each pastry. You’ll want to use standard-sized marshmallows for this recipe, not mini or jumbo.
Sugar, Flour, and Cinnamon: These combine to create a warm, spiced coating on the inside of the rolls.
Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Butter adds richness and helps the cinnamon-sugar mixture stick to the marshmallow. Powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk make a simple, sweet glaze. Chopped nuts add some crunch to balance the fluffy sweetness. We used pecans, but you could use walnuts if that’s what you have on hand.
These delightful puffs are as fun to make as they are to eat. Here’s a short overview of what to do. Keep scrolling for the full recipe!
Stir together sugar, flour, and cinnamon to make the sweet, sparkly marshmallow coating.
Dip each marshmallow in melted butter, roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mix, and seal it snugly inside a crescent triangle, making sure to pinch every seam really well so the marshmallow doesn’t melt out.
Make sure your muffin pan is well greased before you start this step, so your puffs don’t stick. Then, dip the bottom of each roll in melted butter and place each puff in the muffin cup. Bake in a 375°F oven until puffy and golden.
Whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to create a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm puffs, and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Then, watch the surprise on everyone’s face when they bite into that magically hollow, caramelized center! These crescent puffs are delicious warm from the oven and equally wonderful at room temperature the next day.
If you’re lucky enough to have a few marshmallow crescent puffs left, they’re just as delightful the next day.
You can keep any leftovers in an airtight container on the counter for up to 3 days. Although, we’d recommend eating them sooner than that as the crescent dough may start to dry out.
We don’t recommend keeping your marshmallow crescent puffs in the fridge—they’ll lose their magic! The cold temps will cause the dough to become dense and soggy.
We don’t recommend freezing Magic Marshmallow Crescent Puffs.
If you want your puffs to be a little warm, you could pop them in the microwave on medium for 10 seconds, but this will cause the glaze to melt, and the puffs will become sticky and gooey. It’s better to eat them at room temperature!

Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 16 medium muffin cups with cooking spray. In small bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon.

Separate dough into 16 triangles. For each roll, dip 1 marshmallow into melted butter; roll in sugar mixture.

Place marshmallow on shortest side of triangle. Roll up, starting at shortest side and rolling to opposite point. Completely cover marshmallow with dough; firmly pinch edges to seal.

Dip one end in remaining butter; place butter-side down in muffin cup.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. (To guard against spills, place foil or baking sheet on rack below muffin cups.) Cool in pan 1 minute. Remove rolls from muffin cups; place on cooling racks set over waxed paper.

In small bowl, mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk for desired drizzling consistency. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls. Sprinkle with nuts. Serve warm.

Pinch every seam really well or else the marshmallow will completely bubble out, and you’ll lose all that sweet flavor!
Grease the pan well so your crescent puffs don’t stick. Using an offset spatula or butter knife is also helpful for getting the puffs out of the pan.
