Lemon treats are never a bad idea! With bright citrus and slightly sweet, tangy cream cheese, this lemon recipe is one of the best. The simple ingredients, easy instructions, and shareable portions make this dessert a great option for celebrations of any kind. Whether you want a summery dessert, easy breakfast, crowd-pleasing brunch, or a winter treat to celebrate citrus season, this bright lemon recipe is one to save!
A few baking basics help this delicious dessert come together quickly.
Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet or Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: Premade dough makes this recipe extra easy to assemble. A dough sheet is easy because it lacks seams, but crescent rolls work, too.
Cream Cheese: Cream cheese gives the recipe a nice creaminess and adds subtle sweetness to the filling.
Lemon Zest/Lemon Juice: This is the key flavor for the dish. Lemon is bright, zesty, and a fan favorite. If desired, you can swap the lemon flavor for orange or lime.
Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Granulated sugar is key for sweetening the filling of this recipe, and it should dissolve when the filling is prepared. Milk and powdered sugar create a glaze for the top of the ring that adds a sweet finishing touch to the dessert.
This is a simple recipe that creates a delicious dessert! When you’re ready to bake, see the full instructions.
Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.
Mix the cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well blended.
Unroll the dough sheet. Spread cream cheese mixture on the rectangle, leaving 1/2 inch on the edges.
Roll up the dough along the long side and pinch the edge to seal. Cut the rolled dough into 12 slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet in a circle, overlapping slightly.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 350°F. While the dough is baking, mix the glaze ingredients until thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle the glaze over the warm crescent ring and serve.
If you have leftovers, it’s important to store them safely so that you can eat them later!
Do not store leftovers on the counter since there is cream cheese in the filling.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
We do not recommend storing leftovers in the freezer. Doing so may cause the crescent dough to lose its texture.
You can eat leftovers warm or cold. If you want to warm them, put them in the microwave for only a few seconds—any longer and the glaze will melt.

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray large baking sheet with cooking spray. In small bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.

Unroll dough sheet. (If using crescent rolls, unroll dough and separate into 2 large rectangles. Overlap long sides to form 13x7-inch rectangle; firmly press edges and perforations to seal.) Spread cream cheese mixture on rectangle to within 1/2 inch of edges.

Starting with 1 long side of rectangle, roll up; pinch edge to seal.

With serrated knife, cut into 12 slices.

Arrange slices on baking sheet in a circle, overlapping slightly.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

In small bowl, mix Glaze ingredients until thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle over warm crescent ring.

For a more shapely circular ring, place an oven-proof round cookie cutter or small bowl in the center of the ring before baking.
If preferred, you can sprinkle the crescent ring with powdered sugar in place of the glaze.
You can prepare the crescent ring up to 2 hours ahead of time. If you do, cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake. Add a few extra minutes to the bake time.
For a more lemon-forward filling, swap out milk for lemon juice in the glaze. Add extra zest for extra lemony flavor.
When zesting, you want to get the yellow part of the lemon but not the white part, which is bitter. It helps to not press as hard.
