This Easy Crescent Taco Bake uses all your go-to taco night ingredients without the hassle of individual tortillas or taco shells. Here’s what you’ll need.
Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls: A layer of crescent dough makes the perfect fluffy, flaky crust that’s sturdy enough to hold the seasoned ground beef.
Ground Beef: We like ground beef because it’s hearty, filling, easy to cook, and approved by even the pickiest eaters. If you don’t want to use beef, you could sub in ground turkey or even ground pork.
Old El Paso™ Original Taco Seasoning Mix: No fussy measuring of spices required for this recipe! This spice blend comes pre-mixed and adds tons of traditional taco flavor.
Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Salsa brings bright, spicy flavor and shredded cheddar cheese adds melty goodness that holds everything together. Taco toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, or avocado add extra freshness and texture.
Here’s a quick, step-by-step overview of how to make this easy, taco-inspired bake. Keep scrolling for the full recipe!
Unroll Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls triangles and press them into the bottom and up the sides of a 10-inch pie plate or 9-inch square baking dish to form base for the bake.
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain, then stir in salsa and taco seasoning for a flavorful filling.
Spoon the beef mixture on top of the crust, and top with shredded cheddar.
Bake in a 375°F oven until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted. Serve with fresh toppings like lettuce, tomato, sour cream, or avocado for a delicious twist on taco night!
Leftovers reheat well, making for an easy next-day lunch or dinner with all the same tasty taco flavor.
Cover the pie plate with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
We don’t recommend freezing leftover crescent taco bake, because the crust will get soggy when thawed.
Remove the plastic wrap, and put the pie plate in a 375°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes until hot. Or, microwave individual servings on High in 1-minute increments until warmed through.

Heat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough; separate into 8 triangles. Place in ungreased 10-inch ceramic or glass pie plate or 9-inch square baking dish; press over bottom and up sides to form crust.

In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, breaking apart and stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir in salsa and taco seasoning mix; simmer 5 minutes.

Spoon meat mixture into crust-lined plate; sprinkle with cheese.

Bake 14 to 17 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown and cheese is melted.

Served topped with diced white onion, diced tomatoes, and chopped cilantro, if desired.

To make it easy to tell when the crust is golden brown, try using a see-through glass pie plate.
A 4-oz can of Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles combined with the meat mixture adds a mild, smoky heat that amps up the flavor.
