Well, it’s really any casserole that features the flavors of a cheeseburger, from the ground beef patty to all the classic toppings. Some cheeseburger casseroles are made with elbow macaroni, some come with a blanket of mashed potatoes, and still others are topped with biscuits.
Our recipe is kind of a deconstructed cheeseburger. We combine juicy ground beef with all the condiments—dill pickles, ketchup and yellow mustard. Then we sprinkle it with loads of shredded American cheese and, the best part, a flaky crescent dough sheet. The result? An ooey-gooey, super crispy and satisfying delight that will bring new life to your burger night.
When it comes to cheeseburger casserole, the toppings are super important! You can sprinkle shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and pickles right on the casserole to make serving easy. It can also be fun to pile all those ingredients into bowls and let your family build their own casserole—just like they would their burgers!
Would we ever serve our Crescent-Topped Cheeseburger Casserole with a side of fries and some burger sauce for dipping? Yes, we definitely would!
