We think wrapping a hot dog in bacon is a genius idea. Of course, it’s even better if that same hot dog is first wrapped in crescent dough, which is exactly the case with our bacon-wrapped crescent dogs.
With only a few ingredients, this recipe is surprisingly simple. Our bacon-wrapped crescent dogs are bursting with flavor—smoky bacon and rich crescents perfectly complementing a juicy hot dog. They're so good that you'll want to enjoy them for lunch, dinner, or even a late-night treat.
This recipe is quick and easy to make.
Unroll the dough, and pat out into an even rectangle. If you’re using crescent rolls, unroll and pinch the seams together to remove the perforations. Then, using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough lengthwise into 8 even strips.
Starting at one end of the hot dog, wind one strip of dough evenly around to almost completely cover it in dough, leaving only the very top and bottoms of hot dog uncovered. Wrap one slice of bacon around the outside of the dough. Secure each end of the bacon slice with a toothpick. Repeat with all the hot dogs, and place on a cookie sheet. Hot dogs are fully cooked when purchased and will heat through as the dough bakes in the oven.
Bake until golden brown, and serve with your favorite condiments.
Anything that goes well with a regular hot dog would also work well with our next-level, bacon-wrapped crescent dogs. We like to serve them with classic sides like our air fryer French fries, or our loaded baked potato salad.
If you’re willing to try something new, we suggest our refreshingly delicious watermelon cucumber feta salad.
Have leftover bacon-wrapped crescent dogs? While they are best made fresh, here’s how to store them in the fridge and reheat when you’re ready to eat.
Transfer completely cooled crescent dogs to an airtight container or resealable food storage bag. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Place one bacon-wrapped crescent dog on a microwavable plate and cover loosely. Microwave on medium (50%) for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds or until heated through. The texture of the crescent will be a bit tougher than fresh baked but still tasty. Top with your favorite hot dog condiments.
We do not recommend freezing bacon-wrapped crescent dogs as freezing affects the texture of the crescents.

Heat oven to 375°F.
Unroll the dough sheet, and cut lengthwise into 8 even strips. If using crescent rolls, seal perforated seams before cutting into strips.

Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog.

Wrap one strip of bacon around the dough, and secure each end with a toothpick. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake about 12 minutes or until puffed and light golden brown. Remove and discard the toothpicks.

Serve warm with ketchup, mustard, and any of your favorite toppings or dips.

Any precooked sausage will work in place of the hot dog in this recipe, so if you like turkey dogs, cheesy brats or hot links, feel free to use them.
While we call for precooked bacon in this recipe, if you have uncooked bacon on hand and would like to use it, you can precook it yourself. Just make sure to stop the cooking before the bacon gets crispy as you will need to wrap it around the hot dog once cooled.
